The sitting room, to the right of the hallway, overlooks a quiet side street and has plenty of places to sit: the blue sofa, the paired armchairs, the dining table and its mauve seating for four. Black and white photographs hang on cream walls, and the hosts have other artworks that evoke their worldly travels together.

From the hallway, the bathroom is first on your left, and the kitchen (its window overlooking chimney pots and garden patios) is second on the right. With a hand-painted teal-and-red breakfast bar, it’s colourful as well as cosy. The white bedroom is at the end of the corridor, and Chelsea’s shops are within your comfort zone too: the King’s Road is just a five-minute walk away.
